Spring Into Style!

I don’t know what temps are looking like in your hood…. but here in Texas we are getting 8o degree weather. Its honestly annoying, but it has me thinking about my spring looks and what items I will be transitioning over to spring and what items I will be adding .

Spring can look different in many places on the globe.. so I have come up with 10 items you can transition into the spring that you may already have.

1. Cowboy Boots!

I truly believe these are able to be worn year round… but certainly easy to bring into the warmer days ahead. its best to keep them calf height and have fun with color or even bold metallics. Silver metallic could easily be a staple statement boot .

2. Sets!

By far the best thing your wardrobe can have and use year round. Find different ways to wear and mismatch your sets for Spring. Stick with lighter, flowy, or ribbed knit fabrics.

3. Denim!

You and I both know Denim will not go out of style… turning that denim shirt into a skirt, and taking your favorite jeans to the next level with a casual blazer. Go baggy, or go bell bottom here. im personally phasing out skinny jeans.Midi Denim skirts are in high demand , but before hitting the net… try your local thrift store, they always have better quality vintage denim skirts.

4. Silk / Satin Scarves or Bandanas

great accessory that can be used to add color to any simple look. Great for a hair tie, purse embellishment, and I love to use it now as apart of my necklace stack. Go bold and printed on this one, just make sure colors work with your wardrobe.

5. Faux Leather Shorts!

These are actually on my shopping listll this is the first time in a while I have not had any at all. I really feel like they are underrated, but its also hard to find a pair that are actually flattering. Faux shorts are actually one of those items that can transition year round with the exception of the top of summer. i say stay neutral in color to prevent them from looking cheap and cheesy.

6. The Shirt Dress

Now this is my jam right here simply because its probably one of the most functional pieces any woman could have. This by far is one of the items I would suggest to any woman. (its slimming and can be belted for a more tailored look)You can have fun with this item…but to keep it classy and non fussy, I like vertical stripes , whites, and solids!

7. The Blazer

Now look ….a blazer will elevate a hoe dress hunny.. so go hard here.. i wont judge you… Just keep in mind the fabric like linen, or poly,… The thrift store is another great source to finding blazers.

8. Fedoras!

Need I say more… Fedoras are another year around the sun type of item, and it just makes any outfit look cool. Now I am a fedora snob , so make sure you are investing in hats with firm brims…. we are not doing floppy hats in 2023! i say have fun with color here as long as it can go with the majority of your wardrobe.

9. Handbags

I have been through soo many handbags , but i must say the ones I keep the longest and have remained in my closet are the mini and medium cross over bags… even better if it has a top handle with the removable straps. I like my bags structured with quality leather/ fabrics. snakeskin, cowhide, and croc are great options as well. I plan to invest in a shoulder bag this year and I am excited.

10. Cardigans

This is that piece that gets you from the morning to the office and then back for the evening home…. its that item much like a blazer that will get you through the transitioning of seasons. Be sure to go quality here as this is not an item I suggest having many of . have 1-3 great ones that will work seamlessly with your wardrobe!
