A Simple Approach to Meeting Your 2024 Goals

What inspired me?

So last year I managed to be more consistent than ever before and I was so proud of myself. That road honestly wasn’t easy , because more often times than not, I was doing it all LAST MINUTE. I was really trying to be a woman of my word and a woman who honored herself and her calendar.

2023 was the year of gentleness and grace for myself. I stopped judging myself when I fell short, and I started to listen to my body… and reconnected to MY inner voice. All of this rewarded me with the ability to be more intentional about what I desired and how I would spend my time going forward.

Coming into 2024 ,I knew discipline was going to be a key factor in achieving my goals, while grace and gentleness were my tools to cope. I cant say that I’ve reached star status in the discipline area, so I knew a strategic plan would be the best way to start practicing. So I am sharing how I planned and scheduled out my 2024 goals.

What you can do?

I made sure I had a clean wall to work on . I’m visual , so I always use paper , thumbtacks and sticky notes, but feel free to do this digitally or with a notebook

  1. Write out your categories Ex. Personal goals, financial , career, hobbies, family goals, health, spiritual, travel etc.

  2. Write down your top 3-4 goals for each category (NO MORE THAN 4)

  3. Write down the steps it will take to accomplish each goal for each category. (This step may take a while )

  4. Now you have your year review, what it will take to get there… Now you have to schedule them.

-Start with quarterly goals by assigning them to a designated term.

-Once you know all the tasks you need to do for each quarter ,then assign your tasks to a corresponding month. All goals should have a dated deadline.( somethings will be flexible, others completely removed over time)

  5. Things change , and your schedule may do the same… but its important to schedule it… now you have a clear vision on what’s important for you to do… It gives you structure on how to align your schedule , make decisions, and to prioritize your to do list.

  6. Now if you really want to be intentional…give your tasks for each month a due date for each week.

This is my 3rd year doing my annual planning board , but my first year making it this detailed…..and I can say for January, I met 60% of my monthly goals. I did not break my monthly goals into weekly/ daily tasks for January , but I did for February so Im excited to see and share my progress.

THIS PLANNING SESSION WAS CERTAINLY INTENSE BUT WELL WORTH IT. I FEEL AHEAD OF THE GAME AND CONFIDENT THAT I WILL HONOR MY CALENDAR . FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY- I TOOK DAYS OFF, I RESTED, SOME DAYS I STAYED UP LATER, SOME DAYS I GOT 8 HRS OF SLEEP. I TRIED NEW EXPERIENCES, I SOCIALIZED WITH FRIENDS, I WENT WITH THE EBB AND FLOWS OF MY MIND AND BODY…. I FELT LIKE I WAS BALANCING…AND IT TRULY THANKED ME. JANUARY OWES ME NOTHING.

If you desire a more simple approach, I read an article by  Courtney Carver.. who shared that she keeps her process even more simple by doing 2 lists. A more of … and. A less of… list. I absolutely loved the idea of that …. I wasn’t quite ready to do that approach as I still have some streamlining to do in my businesses.

LET ME KNOW IF THIS WAS HELPFUL OR IF YOU PLAN TO TRY IT OUT. IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO PLAN AND IMPLEMENT A STRATEGY!
